A Week in Nebraska

I'm sure it's been traumatizing for everyone that I haven't posted in a week, but honestly, not much has been going on. I've been in Nebraska for a week, and it has been a pretty smooth visit and the boys are actually getting pretty good at this visiting stuff. I went out for drinks and to watch my sister dance over the weekend, ate at Val's with June, and helped the boys dye eggs the other day, otherwise I've just been visiting with the family.

My brother had a rough time of it the other day, he was heading in to work and a lady was frantically trying to flag him down. He pulled over and quickly realized that the lady had accidentally hit a bicyclist. Dan called 911 and ran over to help the poor guy, but it was obvious to him that the cyclist wasn't going to survive, but Dan did what he could to try to console the man and help in any way he could. We found out later that the cyclist had in fact died soon after responders arrived at the scene.

Dan plus death equals a very bad thing, but so far he seems to be doing okay. He feels horrible for everybody involved and hopefully this incident won't drag him down. I'm just grateful he wasn't driving down the road a minute or two earlier or he may have been the one to drive into the bike. Ugg.

I'll be on the road all day Friday, so maybe by Saturday morning I'll have something fascinating to post about. Maybe Ken repainted the entire house while I was away? Maybe he got my old computer fixed while I was away? Maybe his snowmobile taking up a ridiculous amount of space in my garage mysteriously disappeared while I was away?

Hmm... don't get excited, I'll probably have nothing to write about except for a messy house and a weeks worth of my husband's laundry in need of my attention.

Where did you go for drinks? I want to go to Nebraska to visit! I am hoping to try to go back in June sometime! Maybe you can go back then too? I am thinking a trip to Woods pool???

Love,

Flea

Nebraska or Texas? Maybe you should become a stay at home mom and force your kids to sit through excruciatingly long car rides! (Sound familiar?) That way we could do both places!
