All our photo session really proved to me is that I have some really cute kids and I am totally going back to short straight hair! Here's a few of the pictures, there's more on Facebook.

Fall is Here
It's been a little busy around here with Fall barreling in; school, CCD, and Corey's doctor appointments fill our days. All I have to share with you from the past week are these pictures:
Riley makes the first cut.
We pulled in our first watermelon after the frost, it was extremely good! Riley (and mom and dad,) did a great job watering these all summer long. We ended up with four good sized ones and a bunch that weren't able to grow to maturity. The smaller ones may become Jack-O-Laterns, stay tuned...
As we got on the elevator at one of Corey's many appointments, a maintenance man was getting off. He had his hands full so he told us to take the elevator and he would call it back to get this box of equipment. If only he knew Corey, he wouldn't have left this box unattended. We made it out of the elevator, after much excitement, without pilfering a single sign.

My Trip In Pictures
After dropping Corey off with Grandma, Riley, Shannon and I went to Texas to see Aunt Shannon. We also visited with the Flynn family and completely forgot to take pictures. I know, we are not good people.

On the way back to Nebraska we had an unexpected stop over in Stillwater, OK, when this crazy storm came out of nowhere. You know that green iridescent color clouds get right before a tornado hits? Blow up the picture... It was an exciting night to say the least.
Back in Nebraska, Uncle Casey took a day off and we all went to the zoo. The boys loved the animals and Corey loved all the signs (in foreign languages, no less, talk about heaven.)
I also took Riley, Shannon and their cousin Spencer to Meadow Heights, my old stomping grounds. Shannon proceeded to go off the boards for two hours and learned to do a flip. I also went off the boards the entire time because Riley and Spencer, (who had a high fever unbeknown to us at the time,) didn't feel like swimming much.

And finally, I got to spend a day with Leigh, who I haven't seen in years. I also met her adorable little boys, but once again, I forgot to take pictures. You'll have to trust me when I say they are the cutest little things. So is their mom, as you can see. Me, not so much.

Current Events
Oh boy, what a week! We had two tons of dirt delivered to our driveway Monday and somebody had to move it. That job was pretty much mine. Then Monday night, Shannon decided to break a bone in his foot, just like his best girl did a week before. I guess nobody told him slippery footed pajamas don't mix with slippery slides.
I had Shannon home for three days, which is how long doctors make you wait, nowadays, before treating a broken bone in your foot. They gave me a choice between a boot or a cast for Shannon's foot. (Is that even a choice?) We went with the removable boot:
Shannon has to wear his boot for at least a month, and I am hoping his grandma gets up here so that I can get pictures of them together. Their boots are identical, and although Grandma has had hers for 1/2 a year, I'm pretty sure Shannon gets around quite a bit faster. Granted, she had surgery and all, but it still makes me giggle.
On top of this, we've had random pieces of furniture to pick up, assemble, and install, and the packaging has created quite a mess. This includes three tables an a wall-mounted 46" flat screen TV. (Happy 40th, Ken! And Happy Father's Day and Merry Christmas; hope you really really like it!)
We've also dismantled our dining room and are prepping it for yet another paint job. Then we get to move the computer room into the dining room, move a majority of the old living room furniture into the computer room, and make room in our living room for even more furniture. Ugg.
Needless to say, we've been busy around here and the chaos shows no signs of stopping!
