Thanks, Comstock Township, for once again opening up the fire hydrant straight into my yard when you decided to flush the system tonight. I know you do this under the cover of darkness for a reason...
That arc you're seeing is the actual water coming out of the hydrant.
Notice the black ground to the right? That's a growing puddle of water in my already-saturated yard.
This time I was ready! I have been running around the house flushing toilets (4,) running taps from the sinks (6,) and running the tubs and showers (3.) I'm hoping this will ensure clean tap water and keep me from having to wet vac all the toilet tanks to remove the 1/2" of silt build-up that this inevitably causes.
Can I just have a few days around here with NO water issues?

Trust me!
You don't know water issues yet.
It could be MUCH worse!!
Yikes, how bizarre. Tell me gain, WHY do they do this? And WHY aren't people notified? Do you neighbors also have these problems?

Probably another version of Murphy's law.
If anything bad is to happen it will happen at night.
We had a different version at our house.
If any eguipment fails it will happen on a weekend.
By the way we still haven't solved the leaky roof problem. We are to have more rain all week. I will have to keep an eye on the pan.
Oh, no! I thought the roof was finally fixed!
Soon it will be Mom and Dad with water in the basement...
Who has a leaky roof?

p.s. Don't say that about Mom and Dad's basement. We've had rain all day.
Sister Donata forgot to sign that post, but because I am observant, I knew exactly who she was!
