When I was a kid I used to love writing my name over and over. Print, cursive, great big bubble letters, any surface, any writing tool. One surface in particular used to drive my mother crazy, but it's amazing how cool a signature looks scratched out in dust. My kids have this talent, too, it appears...
The words on top of my printer read, "Anna (underlined twice and followed by a smiley face,) Hi Shan, (peace sign,) Riley.
Grandma will be so proud. And utterly embarrassed at how dusty her daughter's house is, after all, she was raised better than that.

Serves you right.
What goes around, comes around.
You should see the dust in my house after 13 weeks.
Dad couldn't get a job with Merry Maids !!
Why does that make me laugh?
Ken could GET a job at Merry Maids, but he'd soon be downsized or relocated to Jersey.
Bet your microwave is clean, though.
Oh thank the Lord, you are human. Whenever you share photos of your house or your yard it makes me feel inadequate, somehow...like I just can't measure up...no portion of my house ever looks that clean (then again - there are 5 of us in a 2 bedroom farmhouse)
Anyway...the dust just proves to me you are still human, my friend.
Very good Colleen! Yes, mom did get mad when we played with the dust on the tv. Everytime she caught us, we had to clean the whole house. Remember?
I just remember having to clean the whole house. (Often.)
I don't really recall any particular catalyst...
I did learn something from cleaning house at the Landkamer's that has stuck with me over the years. When you are putting towels in the closet, the fold should face you. I NEVER let Jonathan put towels away because they just get stuffed in there and it drives me CRAZY!
I have to say that my house is really dusty too, we are not finished landscaping yet. Hopefully once we get all the rock laid in the front yard, it will take care of the excess dust.

Flea
Leigh,
Loved your comment. Who knew that something they did could influence somebody else years later!
I still think it is the ONLY way to put towels away!
I also need to clarify what Leigh meant by cleaning house at the Landkamer's. If she was present during the "deed", she had chores too.
Her choices were to take work assignments like everybody else or go home.
Since the girls always had something "planned, she would stay, thinking everybody would get done faster.
What she didn't know was, with an extra hand around, I would throw in an extra chore or two.
"What she didn't know was, with an extra hand around, I would throw in an extra chore or two."
Evil woman.
