Getting Things Done

So I just got done mowing my (very green) lawn, just in time for the wind to kick up and cover it with leaves. Other people's leaves - we don't have a tree on our property. Okay, I did plant two of those swirly pine trees last month, but they don't shed. You get my point.

I had thought I was done mowing for the year - we haven't had rain in ages and we've had a few freezes. Well, my neighbor mowed yesterday and of course this accented the fact that MY lawn needed trimmed. So I did it. I mowed my lawn the day AFTER I hung up my Christmas lights on the front of the house.

I know, I know: it's too early for Christmas lights. But if Star 106.9 can start playing Christmas music 24/7 on November 1, then I can hang up my Christmas lights. Take THAT, neighbors!

We had strong winds yesterday (as well as weird weather for November) and we have LOTS of leaves. Guess what? A goodly amount of them ended up in the neighbors yard. From past experience the wind will change directions and they will alll end up back in our yard. Donata

I think our leaves come from over a block away. They don't really bother me, though, I just act like they do. ;-)

I'd rather see fallen leaves than fallen snow...

Nice - we are in the middle of our first winter blizzard today and tonite. BUT at least we are not going to get as much snow as South Dakota :). Parts of SD are getting hammered today.

Just had a note from my neice Carol who is in ND. She said it was windy, snowing, and hailing all at the same time. Wind chill was 8. Glad I live in the Ozarks.

The news reports on the blizzard are just amazing! Ugg, just imagining the winds, alone, makes me cold!

8" inches of snow here with 30-40 mile per hour winds made VERY big drifts in my driveway. I was 3 hours late getting to work this morning. Plus the ground is still warm so the bottom layer of snow was, oh, the wet heavy stuff. My back is killing me after shoveling for 2 hours so I could get one vehicle out. I could have done with out this :)

Bummer I'm so far away, ND, you know shoveling is my forte...

By the way, you need to anticipate the snowfall, and wake up accordingly. Snow is no excuse for tardiness!

Is it MY turn to laugh at YOU?

I know. I have seen the pictures from last year :).

Rain, snow, sleet, sun I never get up early :). Not a morning person.

Laugh away - it is your turn :).

Oh, the Christmas lights. We hate them. Ken didn't want to climb on the roof, so we did them around our two large front windows and they look stoopid.

When we relocate them, I'll post a before and after of their locations. Just don't tell me the lights look old...
